Our 40ft Steel Reefer is modeled after a typical General American Transportation Corporation riveted ice bunker refrigerated boxcar. Commonly referred to as a PFE (Pacific Fruit Express) reefer car. It features laser cut steel construction with stamped steel ends and roof hat sections. A full investment cast brass functional hinge and hardware set is included for the side doors and roof hatches. Comes standard with punched Morton style aluminum walkways and "bowtie" raised roof panels. Features working doors and roof hatches. This model easily spans the 1940's into 1960's. This is a highly detailed car that will look great behind steam or diesels.
